70 years of history
Founded in 1956 in Digoin by Mr Primo Zélanti, Le Laboureur is a manufacturer of traditional workwear for workers and members of the Compagnons du Devoir.
The company is renowned for the quality of its products, characterised by sturdy stitching and fabrics that stand the test of time.
Le Laboureur has always taken great care in the manufacture of its garments.
Originally based in the town centre, the company moved a short distance away in 1973, to 6 bis Rue des Chantiers. The workshop still manufactures the bulk of its clothing range there, comfortably situated opposite the River Loire.
Preserving the traditions of the past for the present
An iconic company from the Loire region, Le Laboureur was awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label in 2023 for its craftsmanship, which is unique in France.
French manufacturing is a precious asset, and every day we work passionately to preserve this craftsmanship. Mastering the craft, understanding the trade and knowing how to pass it on are key elements of a tradition that has always been essential.
Indeed, behind the apparent simplicity of the trousers and jackets lies a certain complexity, discreetly concealed.
Looking to the future
Responding to a quest for meaning and sustainable products, the brand’s iconic jackets and trousers are also appealing to a more urban clientele, both in France and abroad.
Growth is on the cards and the company, with its 32 employees, is pressing ahead with its projects. Every day, Le Laboureur continues to write the next chapters of its history.
