Description
Although often forgotten, women have played an important role in the development of art. Thanks to the courage and struggle of the Union of Women Painters and Sculptors (1881), women can now enter art schools, develop their art and make a living from their artistic productions. This exhibition pays tribute to the women artists whose works are kept at the museum: Marie Gormand, Marie-Louise Rigaud Lauféron, Eugénie Faux-Froidure, Nathalie Domingo, Kira Molin; while at the same time putting them in dialogue with contemporary women artists: Rachel Schlumberger, Valérie Henry, Déborah Champagnon, Lucie Lorton, Claire Deboisse, Rachel Bonin, Anne Mouz.
